BASIS Peoria is a college-preparatory school with an enrollment of 730 in Grades 5-11. BASIS Peoria features the same rigorous academic program for as in our award-winning sister schools in Scottsdale and Tucson. Students who attend BASIS Peoria are committed to attaining the highest level of academic and intellectual achievement.
To meet the needs of such an able and motivated student body, BASIS Peoria recruits a highly talented academic faculty. Expert teachers with a passion for learning make BASIS Peoria an exceptional environment for students with diverse backgrounds and interests. Our teachers dedicate many additional hours towards supporting their students both before and after school.
BASIS Peoria is organized into a lower school program (grades 5-7) and an upper school program (grades 8-12). BASIS Peoria Lower School focuses on building organizational and study skills and creating a deep knowledge base necessary for students to tackle the demanding upper school curriculum. Our lower school curriculum combines opportunities to pursue academic excellence as we help our students to become well-rounded individuals. Students are introduced to courses such as Latin, physics, chemistry and biology as stand-alone classes in the lower school. An excellent program in the arts and music complement our core classes here at BASIS Peoria.
A rigorous liberal-arts curriculum prepares our upper school students for admission into the nation’s top colleges and universities. All graduating seniors enter college, and several dozen colleges visit our campus each year to recruit BASIS Peoria students to their schools. BASIS Peoria Upper School students can begin taking Advanced Placement® courses as early as the eighth grade and will take, at a minimum, eight AP courses and six AP® exams by the end of their junior year.
With the combination of a rigorous and tested curriculum, an AP board examination system unique to BASIS, and talented, dedicated teachers, we believe every student who comes to BASIS Peoria can succeed. We concentrate on academics and offer targeted student support, ensuring every student has the opportunity to flourish.
